An impressive set of Italian art ceramics dating from the 1960s, comprising a jug and 12 tall goblets. The complete set is preserved in perfect condition, which is particularly noteworthy for a large functional ensemble of this type.

The vessels are made of distinctive ribbed ceramic covered with a two-tone glaze in shades of honey beige and deep brown. The simple cylindrical forms and contrasting glazing reflect the aesthetic of Italian Mid-Century Modern design, combining functionality with a distinctly sculptural character.

The set is marked “IP”, a designation that is frequently attributed to the work of Franco Bucci in specialist literature and on the collectors’ market. Bucci was one of the most recognisable Italian ceramic designers of the second half of the 20th century.
